Bargaining Update 17: Unproductive Mediation

Our mediation session with the conciliation panel was held last Wednesday and it was regrettably unproductive.

We did, however, manage to fix dates for arbitration.  They are October 16th and 25th.  We did seek earlier dates but these were the first dates that the members of the conciliation panel had available.

Our counsel have filed our conciliation brief as well as a market analysis for the competitiveness of our salaries which was conducted by a compensation expert retained by the AJC.  The Negotiating Team has an extremely high degree of confidence in the quality of these materials.  We will not, however, be sharing these documents with you until the process is complete, as we are subject to a confidentiality undertaking that relates to the positions of the parties.  Subject to these restrictions, we will obviously keep you informed of any developments.

The Negotiating Team wishes to thank the members for their patience and to assure you that the conciliation process is of the highest priority.
