The Association of Justice Counsel's President Ursula Hendel is on the picket line with Les avocats et notaires de l'État québécois (LANEQ), which is currently on strike against the provincial government.
"The AJC supports LANEQ and its members' rights to a fair collective bargaining process and its members' right to strike", said Ursula Hendel, President of the AJC. "Across Canada, crown counsel offices are under-resourced and crown counsel are under-paid for the work that they do on behalf of Canadians."
"At the national level, we are facing a similar situation and have already indicated our own frustrations over the lack of progress during negotiations. The AJC has already decided that we are ready to proceed to "binding conciliation" if the current round of negotiations is further stalled."
