The AJC has received notification from the Department of Justice (DOJ) that all eligible members have received their retroactive payments.
On
October 2, 2015, we reported that the AJC had received the
adjudicator's decision on its policy grievance relating to the Department of Justice's failure to provide lockstep increases to LP1s, LP2s and LP3s who are not at the top of the salary scale and who received "Unable to Assess" ratings as a result of having been on maternity or parental leave.
The Adjudicator agreed with the AJC's interpretation of the collective agreement that the new lock step system allows LPs, including those on maternity or parental leave, to automatically move up a lockstep on their normal increment date, except in cases where their performance was assessed as unsatisfactory.
If you were on maternity or parental leave on or after September 5, 2013 and have not received the retroactive lockstep increases in accordance with the adjudicator order, please contact
admin@ajc-ajj.com to report the matter in order to preserve your remedial rights under the adjudicator's order. You will also be required to confirm that you were not at the top of the scale and received an "Unable to Assess" rating in order to qualify for such a retroactive lockstep adjustment.
