PAFSO Reaches Tentative Deal With Treasury Board

This week ends on a positive note: Canada's Foreign Service officers, who walked off the job last spring, have just ended what is now the longest strike in Canadian public service history.

The 1,500-member Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO), which includes more than 600 Canadian diplomats in overseas missions, reached a tentative agreement on Thursday, September 26, 2013.

As you may recall, the AJC supported PAFSO job action. PAFSO?s members are underpaid in comparison to their counterparts doing similar work in other departments, a similar situation in which members of the AJC found themselves for years.

Details of the tentative agreement will be coming out soon. In the meantime, we share these press clippings with AJC members to inform them of the PAFSO deal with Treasury Board.

The AJC congratulates Tim Edwards and all the PAFSO team!
