AJC Wins Judicial Review on Overtime and Travel Time

On Friday, May 6, the Federal Court dismissed Treasury Boardīs application to strike down overtime and travel time compensation for LA1s and LA2As.

This ruling marks an important victory for the AJC. The Federal Court decision affirms that federal lawyers work long and hard hours, and should be compensated fairly for them. The provisions on overtime and travel time accomplish this to some degree. They are, and remain, a vital component of the collective agreement. They are not unreasonable, and not contrary to the governmentīs restraint measures.
