The Supreme Court of Canada (SCC) has denied leave to appeal from
the Judgment of the Court of Appeal for Ontario on the
Expenditure Restraint Act (ERA) Charter challenge, made on August 7, 2012.
As customary,
the SCC did not provide reasons.
The AJC pursued every avenue possible to its maximum effect in order to protect and further the interests of our members. While we were not successful here, the past gains and the recent tentative agreement remind us of the importance of being able to protect and further our interests in a collective way.
