Update on the Latest AJC-Treasury Board Bargaining Session

The AJC negotiation team and Treasury Board representatives met for a second round of bargaining on May 26th and 27th.

Dear AJC colleagues,

The AJC negotiation team and Treasury Board representatives met for a second round of bargaining on May 26th and 27th.

As you can appreciate, there are limits to what the negotiation team can reveal in order to preserve the integrity of the process and its strategic approach.  Of course, the intent is to give you as much information as we are able with these principles in mind.

We can say that we had two full days of meetings. We continue to collect information and consult with other bargaining agents in our efforts to address the Treasury Board plan to overhaul our sick leave regime.

We have yet to hear details of such an overhaul from Treasury Board. Sick leave will be central to these negotiations, as reported recently in the media.

As we have said before, the terms of your AJC collective agreement cannot be varied during the bargaining process. Until we reach a new deal, the present AJC collective agreement applies.

The AJC negotiation team is well prepared and committed to obtaining the best possible outcome for all their members. You should feel free to send any questions, or comments to the negotiation team at negotiationscommittee-comitenegociations@ajc-ajj.com

Two other bargaining sessions are scheduled in the coming months: July 28th to 31st and October 6th to 10th .

Your AJC President,
Len MacKay
