Performance Management and the LP Group: Update

It is the AJC's view that the performance regime as set out in our collective agreement supersedes any directive issued by Treasury Board.

Over the last few days, AJC members, like other federal public servants, have been receiving the Treasury Board email about information sessions for the new Directive on Performance Management, which comes into effect on April 1, 2014.

This email has raised questions from AJC members.

It is important to note that the AJC has yet to receive any official instructions from Treasury Board or senior management on how this new performance directive will impact AJC members.

It is the AJC's view that the performance regime as set out in our collective agreement supersedes any directive issued by Treasury Board.

The AJC's situation is unique since our long-standing performance management regime is embedded in our collective agreement (Appendices B and C).

You will also recall that last November, the AJC pulled out of the Performance Management Consultations with Treasury Board. We had repeatedly explained to TB that their performance management initiative was in conflict with and in violation of the AJC's collective agreement.

We have yet to receive any satisfactory answer from TB despite our frequent requests for clarification.
