Approval of Collective Agreement Still Outstanding - AJC Presses Minister Clement for Action

We understand the proposed timeline for the approval of the new LAs Collective Agreement by the Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) has come and gone.  The AJC's President, Lisa Blais, has been in touch with TBS senior officials repeatedly this month, and as recently as the evening of January 31st. She was assured that any future decision would be communicated to her, as soon as possible.

The Treasury Board Secretariat did confirm to the AJC in December that approval of the new LA Collective Agreement would be on the agenda for a TB meeting, scheduled for January 2013. From what we know now, our Agreement was not on the agenda, contrary to what we were told. We have written again to TB President Tony Clement requesting an explanation for the delays.

The AJC will be pursuing all available options to ensure that the hard fought gains we made in this round of negotiations are implemented as soon as possible.
